We decided to update our fleet of special equipment by purchasing an American-made John Deere 6th series wheeled tractor. During the first 2 weeks of using the machine, my assistant and I were disappointed: the tractor is not adapted for work on hilly terrain with rocky soil. Despite the presence of an ergonomic seat and modern electronics in the cabin, there is no rigid frame, which guarantees the operator's safety. Without it, the cabin will soon deform. In the worst case scenario, the tractor will tip over on a round-inclined surface. If I had to evaluate the machine on a 5-point scale, I would without hesitation give it a 3 with a minus sign.

For me, the John Deere 8430 is a suitable tractor for working on farms with large fields (up to 2000 hectares). With proper operation and careful maintenance, it can accumulate up to 15,000 engine hours, after which it may require major repairs. An important requirement is the use of quality diesel fuel and genuine oil recommended by the manufacturer. If you ignore this detail and refuel with a substitute, as my colleague did, the hydraulic system may fail.

1.5 years ago we purchased the John Deere 8320. The machine was manufactured in 2003, but despite being 16 years old and having multiple owners, it has maintained a condition that is practically new. During this time, the tractor has accumulated over 14,000 operating hours. Despite its high cost, the machine paid for itself in the first year of use. Today, we use the tractor only for extremely labor-intensive tasks. We try to conserve its working capacity as the cost of servicing and new parts is high. It is unfortunate that there is a lack of any useful source of information for self-repair of the tractor.

I worked on it. The control is advanced, the tractor itself works quietly and without vibrations. It fully copes with its tasks. We only repaired the headlight - the bulb burnt out.

I work with this tractor in my garden. I got myself a little one from abroad, despite its respectable age of 20 years, it is in good condition, the Germans make sturdy equipment. Now, onto the main point, after 2 seasons, there are no issues with the chassis, seems decent, the handling is simple and clear, the only thing is that after a minor collision, replacing the broken headlight was a bit expensive.

I can only say one thing about the John Deere 2520 HST. This mini tractor did not disappoint me, although I decided to sell it 5 months ago because I no longer needed it. It handled the work just fine. I used it to clear leaves in the garden and to remove snow during the winter. It started quickly even in cold weather.

We were looking for a reliable tractor for our farm, either of European or American production. We chose the John Deere 8310R. The previous owner had used the tractor for up to 8000 operating hours, but the engine's pulling power remained just like new. We liked the comfortable and spacious cabin. However, it would be great to have a rigid frame inside the cabin as well. It is necessary for comfortable work on steep terrain. Among the downsides, we can also highlight the expensive service. But we haven't had to repair the tractor yet as it still works perfectly.

In the farm where my friend works, there are 2 tractors, one of which is the John Deere 6155M. They work with this machine from spring until the beginning of snowfall. In 4 years of operation, they have only repaired the injectors. According to my friend, nothing has happened to the main units during this time. At our enterprise, we are also considering purchasing a "John" because our Fendt constantly breaks down and lets us down.

Ran a John Deere 8400 last year through some nasty conditions and gotta say it mostly holds up. It chews through diesel sure, but with that kind of power - makes sense. Engine’s simple to keep going, which I like since I’d rather spin wrenches in my own yard than haul it to a shop. Never had issues getting parts, at least for what’s needed to keep her running. Only gripe was the cab could be better on long days, you know, feels a bit old-school. But the thing’s straightforward to drive, all controls simple, not overloaded with gadgets which I prefer. Pretty stress-free as far as reliability goes.
